Student Led Conferences

Can’t wait to see everyone at the Music Class Student-led conference. Here is the information, if you are interested:

Dear Families,

Welcome to your child’s Music class Student Led Conference. This is an opportunity for your child to lead you around the music room and show you what they have been learning this year.

We have three stations set up for the conference for the children to demonstrate their learning. Ideally, they will spend about 5 minutes per station and 15 minutes in total in the music room.

This is a time for celebrating your child’s new learning and their future goals. It’s a time for positive comments only; words of praise and encouragement are welcomed. Feel free to speak any language you want during the conference.

  • Visit the 3 stations set up.
  • Stay within your allotted time slot, we need to accommodate many families throughout the day so there is not much room for an overlap in conferences.
  • Don’t rush. Aim for not more than 5 minutes at a station. With the time that you have after your student has finished demonstrating a station ask them questions about their learning and future goals.
  • Please, no more than 2 families at a particular station. If you need to wait for a family to finish, stand to side until they are done.
  • Today is a time for your child to share their learning, if you wish to discuss anything further with your music teacher, you can email them privately.
  • Sign-up using your child’s first and last name on the sheet to your right.

Thank you for joining us !

Ms. Babb and Mr. Dennison

K/1 AND PK Concert Video!!

Thank you very much to Mikael Masson from the SCIS marketing department for this awesome video!

And to the wonderful ECE kids, thank you all for these super amazing concerts!

Ms. Babb

The concert, a celebration of learning!

Hello parents,

In music class we are hard at work making music and fabulous memories. Soon we will have our winter concerts. The information can be found here:

The concert is a wonderful time for both kids and parents. It is a time for the kids to show you all of the amazing things they can do! Yes, they are cute but it goes way beyond that. These wonderful kids here at the ECE are capable of so much and are very excited to show you. This concert the kids will sing, play instruments and move for you. Every song that we sing, play instruments or move to all have a specific learning goal in mind. For example, in 1st grade the kids are playing a repeated rhythms pattern at the same time as singing a completely different rhythmic pattern, this is a changeling activity. In kindergarten the kids are singing a very familiar song and playing a variety of instruments while remembering when to play and when to stop, how to properly play the instruments, and feeling the beat. Lastly, in PK the kids are playing instruments in a fast or slow fashion depending on how the music feels. These are just a highlight of the many learning moments that will take place at our concert on November 30th. In May we will have another concert and you will get to see how much their learning has progressed.

Can’t wait to see you there!!
