Field Day

Dear Parents,

Our annual Field Day will be held on Friday, June 8th (rain date is on Monday, June 11th).

This is a day where your child will join a team of other students from different classes and travel around the school to participate in 10 fun (and sometimes wet) stations!

To avoid overcrowding and to maximize space for students, only parents who have signed up as volunteers to help run stations should be on campus during this time.  If you would like to volunteer please click here.

Thank you for your understanding!

Please read the attachment below so you know which color your child will need to wear on Friday, June 8th.

For example, John is RED A.  This means he is on Team Red A and will need to wear RED (top only is fine).

Please remember the following for Friday, June 8:

– Send in a water bottle

– Almost all the kids will NOT be on my team so label your child¹s water bottle with their name and room number (i.e. John A104 *this can be done on masking tape)

– Apply sunscreen and mosquito repellent on your child at home if needed

– The kids will get wet so send in an extra change of clothes (socks, underwear, top and bottom – does not have to be school uniform)

ECE Art Auction-Saturday, May 12th

Time is running out! Be sure to get your tickets for a fun evening with our SCIS community at the ECE Art Auction. Beautiful art pieces created by our own ECE artists will be auctioned off live by our emcee for the evening, Melanie McClure.

Silent auction packages include a four-day cruise to Japan, Shanghai Insiders jeep tour, brunch packages, hotels stays and more. Spa treatments & lunch at the Westin, vouchers for Sherpas and Din Tai Fung will be raffled off throughout the evening.

Tickets can be purchased at the ECE front desk or Thursday, May 10 at the Kindergarten and Grade 1 concert on the Hongqiao main campus. Be sure to get your tickets so you don’t miss this fun filled evening!

Our class will go swimming for PE class at Ming Shen Garden from May 28-31 (for 4 days)!

Please help your child prepare the following so they can join in the fun:
-Swim suit (that your child can put on and remove independently)
-Swim Cap (please label with your child’s name)
-Goggles (please label with your child’s name)
-Towel (suitable to dry their body)
-Flip Flops/Crocs/Plastic Slippers (as socks and running shoes are extremely difficult for little hands and wet feet)
-Bag for Wet Things (separate from their school bag to hold ALL the items above)
-Hair Elastic if your child has long hair (swim caps are difficult to put on if long hair is not tied up)
-PLEASE avoid tights, leggings or any hosiery as these are extremely difficult for children to put on when their bodies are a little damp

Have some fun and see how fast your child can change in and out of their swim suit on their own.  Time it and make it into a game!

Our class will be in the pool from 11:30-12:15pm. We will need 2 parent volunteers each day to help change the children out of their swim suits at the end of their lessons.

If you would like to volunteer in the change room on May 28, 29, 30, or 31 between 12:10-12:30pm, please email me directly.
