2. RECORD BREAKERS AT SHANGHAI SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS 2018-2019

Congratulations to our swimming team at the Shanghai Swimming League Championship meet.

Day 1 hosted our 11 & over swimmers and what a start to our day.  SCIS began with a blistering start with Sophie and Natalie winning gold in the first races of the day.  A few of my personal favorite races were : Mikey Valerio’s 100 Fly and 13-14 girls Free relay.  Our team were 3rd overall (behind SAS Pudong & SAS Puxi) for the majority of the day until we slipped to 4th overall after some of the later events to Dulwich College.

Day 2 the coaching team were happy to observe that our junior team have improved exponentially, finally having many our under 8 swimmers swimming within our 9-10 group who have had a great start to our sport under Coach Jane.  Day 2 our team were in 3rd place over (behind SAS Puxi & Dulwich College) until at the end of day we slipped behind SAS Pudong.

All of the coaches are proud of our developments, improvements and looking forward to continuing to work towards our goals.

For the first time in SCIS history for Lower School Swimmers in the 9-10 age group category managed to make the final heat for the majority of the events, exceptions being 50m Breaststroke for girls and boys.

Congratulations to the following swimmers who broke school records:
